Focused Skills Lab: Analysis ToolPak Basic Concepts
One video course to improve your Excel skills
Many fundraising shops are interested in starting data analytics programs, but some organizations are uncertain about the potential benefits of analytics for their fundraising. What if you had a way to get an idea of what tools like regression, predictive modeling, and forecasting could do for your organization without first committing to a larger data analytics project? Thanks to Microsoft Excel, there is!
In this special two-part training session, Dr. Greg Duke will demonstrate how you can perform basic data analytics projects in a program you already have and use. This first session focuses on Excel’s Data Analysis ToolPak and its functions, like Linear Regression, Forecasting, and Correlation.
The second session will demonstrate how to build a basic predictive modelling program in Excel, and how Dr. Duke created a Monte Carlo forecasting tool in Excel—long before dedicated statistical software programs were able to do it! Before you dive into data analytics, learn what it can do for your organization with Basic Data Analytics for Fundraisers.
For over 20 years, Greg Duke has worked in fundraising organizations in the United States and the United Kingdom, working primarily in database management and prospect research.
