If you are looking at the blank page on your Power BI program and don't know where to start, this course is for you.
Walking you through building your first dashboard step by step, Greg Duke and Marianne Pelletier will show you how to create your first dashboard. Lessons include how to:
- Import data from a variety of sources, including refreshable data links
- Add data from different tables to a report
- Building a summary data table to glean insights from your constituency giving
- Computing new columns for deeper insight
- Adding graphs, maps, and charts that bring forward actionable information
- Formatting steps that clarify, including coloring charts by segment and adding your own organization's color schemes
- Pre-filtering data and adding slicers to allow for on the fly analysis
- Creating drill-down graphs and tables for further investigation into your constituency's characteristics
- Publishing your dashboard so that your whole organization can benefit

Your Instructor
For over 20 years, Greg Duke has worked in fundraising organizations in the United States and the United Kingdom, working primarily in database management and prospect research.
Duke helps Raiser’s Edge clients to optimize their database by implementing data clean-up techniques and creating reporting structures, including dashboards and SQL queries. He also facilitates data imports into Raiser’s Edge and database administration.
Duke has worked at the University of Oxford, Niagara University, Florida International University, and the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has lectured at several APRA International and regional conferences, and previously taught a fundraising course at Niagara University. Duke earned a D.Phil in modern history from Jesus College, University of Oxford.
